Island Cowboy (2021)

Island Cowboy is a short feature documentary that follows a Canadian beekeeper on Prince Edward Island during one of his last years of work. At the age of 68, Stan Sandler would like to retire, but impending threats to his island home's ecosystem threaten the future of the bees, and the health of the environment. The relationship between a beekeeper’s labour and the economy of the island’s blueberry crop is explored through a season of beekeeping, as we get an intimate look at Stan and the "bee cowboys".

Read to me (2016)

“Read to Me” explores the power of reading and of film to create and to interrupt what we may mean by intimacy and proximity, love and separation. What is ‘longing to be close’ about, close to others, to the world, to a story, to a film or to oneself? What is there in a connection, a sense of togetherness or intimacy? What is lost in standing apart, thinking critically or knowing too much about someone or something?

2035 COURSOL (2015)

2035 Coursol is a short documentary about the loss of a place. Demolished in November 2014, the building at 2035 Coursol housed Little Burgundy's historic Negro Community Centre for many decades, making the large structure both a physical and symbolic landmark of the neighbourhood. In the wake of this sad event, this film offers a meditation on time, place, architecture and history, and their significance in the larger context of gentrification and urban renewal.
